Audio Precision ATS-2 Debuted at Atlanta Section Meeting
The Atlanta Section held a meeting on October 15th, 2001 in the Georgia Public Broadcasting studios of GPTV. Guest speaker Ben Harris of Southeastern Design and Consulting was on hand to discuss audio test and measurement and demonstrate the latest technology from Audio Precision. The 22 meeting attendees were the first group of audio professionals, outside the AP factory, to see Audio Precision's ATS-2, their latest PC based audio measurement device. Mr. Harris ran the system through its paces by sending both analog and digital test sweeps through a professional DAT machine and small audio mixer. The attendees seemed very impressed with the speed and accuracy of this PC based device. Leslie Jensen-Link Named Treasurer Elect
At the Atlanta Section committee meeting held on November 15th, Leslie Jensen-Link was named Treasure Elect of the Atlanta Section. She replaces JT Cantwell who respectfully stepped down from the position due to other commitments. Our thanks go to JT for helping get the Atlanta Section established!! We look forward to working with Leslie in this position. She will be officially elected into office at the December 17th meeting.
Georgia Public Broadcasting Provides Home for Atlanta Section
Since the Atlanta AES Section was re-established, finding regular meeting space has been a problem. Georgia Public Broadcasting has come to the rescue by offering their studios at GPTV for this purpose. Although some meetings will be held in other locations depending upon the type of program planned, it is great knowing the Atlanta Section now has a regular home. Our thanks go to Tom Spencer, Technical Service Coordinator at GPB and the GPB management for their support!
