Job Summary:

The Senior Information Developer is an expert in writing, extracting, curating, and refining technical information to empower our audio content creation customers in achieving exceptional audio experiences in Dolby Atmos. Collaborating closely with diverse project teams, the Senior Information Developer identifies crucial technical information essential for all end users (such as sound mixers, mastering engineers, and other professionals in audio distribution /delivery) to effectively utilize Dolby audio solutions. This role combines the use of cutting-edge technologies, UX research, and leverages data to share the information experience for content creators. The Senior Information Developer collaborates with project teams to agree on priorities, timeframes, and deliverables. Additionally, this role involves providing guidance to other members of the development team, continuously expanding knowledge and skills to remain abreast of industry developments, and adapting to technological advancements as they emerge.

Key responsibilities:

  • Distill information from various sources to create concise, accurate, and timely documentation tailored to diverse user personas.
  • Lead content initiatives with project teams to uncover user insights and needs, incorporating them into the information experience.
  • Establish effective project priorities and negotiate timelines based on objectives, project requirements, and ongoing tasks.
  • Continuously update content in preparation for subsequent releases.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes for generating and delivering optimized content to users.
  • Share knowledge through training, mentorship, and guidance to team members to enhance their capabilities.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enrich expertise.

Qualifications

  • Display broad proficiency across writing, extracting, curating, and refining technical information for customers and end-users.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Mass Communication, Information Design, Sound Engineering, Audio Production, or related field.
  • 4-5 years’ experience in developing effective technical content and solutions, preferably within music or audio post-production related workflows and tools.
  • Preferred: Understanding of UX research, application of user data/analytics, personalized instructional information, and emerging technologies such as generative AI.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Preferred: Certification in SCRUM Master/ SCRUM Product Owner/Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and lead content initiatives.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Openness to experimenting with new technologies and continuously building new skills.
  • Commitment to providing mentorship and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Proficiency with technical writing formats such as DITA, XML, Markdown and docs-as-code.
  • Proficiency in using tools including Oxygen XML Editor, Git, Jira, Confluence, and MS Office Suite.

The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $104,900 – $126,200, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
